Sandi
Gunnett describes herself simply as "...a wife, mother, gardener,
artist, and photographer," yet her photos reveal more - a versatile
and inquisitive eye compelled to transform common things into statements
of purpose and often exquisite beauty. A single bud, a forgotten
urban corner, a thinker caught mid-sentence, a tiny horse hair nest
- her images celebrate form, energy, history and the passion of
daily life and work in process.
A native of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Sandi has
worked for many years in private, corporate and not-for-profit settings
and is a frequent contributor to the local cultural and arts scene.
Her photos have appeared in the Berlin-based horticultural periodical,
Balkon und Garten, in promotional materials for musicians
and designers, and in web sites, advertising and collateral for
a growing number of corporate clients.
Sandi displays and regularly updates her images
in galleries on Flickr.com and on her own blog sites. We were immediately
struck by her meticulous compositions and by the fact that her photos
imply a whole world behind what they actually portray. We decided
to use them everywhere on this web site. They were a perfect match
for RBB, where so much happens behind the scenes - so much context
building, analysis, in-depth understanding and experience, yet where
nimble minds will change gears in a moment if that's what it takes
to create the right solution.
